WHAT IS COCKTAILS ON ICE?
Leading ice machine manufacturer, Ice-O-Matic, introduces its new ‘Cocktails on Ice’ challenge - a nationwide search for the most innovative and creative mixologists in the country, but with a chilly twist. The winner – who will receive an all expenses paid trip to Sweden’s famous Ice Hotel – will have to demonstrate skills and passion for bartending, while incorporating a unique use of ice in their original drinks concept.
Open to anyone working in the hospitality industry now, the first ‘Cocktails on Ice’ challenge has been designed to turn the bar competition scene on its head and expectations of innovation and extreme recipes are high.

WINNER - THOMAS COLE
Thomas Cole, from, Dirty Martini UK, was crowned as the UK's top bar tender after emerging victorious at the inaugural Cocktails On Ice competition at Imbibe Live on 5th July 2016.
Thomas's cool cocktail - 'Stockholm Syndrome', was inspired by a passion for all things Scandinavian, consisting of 'Scandi' ingredients, such as Kostenkorva Ligonberry Vodka, that were assmembled to form the colours of the Swedish flag. The cocktail was garnished with two salted liquorice bon-bons dipped and frozen in sweet liquorice sauce on a yellow heart skewer.
Thomas wins one night's stay for two at the sensational ICEHOTEL in Sweden.
In close second place was Maja Jaworksa of the White Lyan, with her Electric Blue Boogaloo delivering a delightful flavour and colour combination inspired by the famous 70's cocktail, Pina Colada.
Maja takes home a prize of dinner and drinks for four people at the IceBar in London.

Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Eoin Kenny moved to London to further his experience in the hospitality industry. Having spent 2 years as Bar Manager at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Eoin made the move to Firmdale Hotels latest property, Ham Yard Hotel for its opening in June 2014 as Bar Manager.

Czech-born Wendy Stoklasova is the bar manager of Oblix at the Shard. Wendy has a wealth of experience working as a bartender around the globe before taking the role at Oblix in 2013. Inspired by the American history and the origins of the first cocktails, Wendy and her talented team have designed an unique and creative bar menu in true Oblix's style celebrating simplicity and taste.
Marketing Manager, Rocket Restaurants & Bars
Clara-Louise has worked her way through the hospitality ranks to become National Sales Manager for fresh and vibrant restaurant group, Rocket. She held her first sales management position at just 21 years old, and after gaining a wide range of experience, both front and back of house with brands such as Tiger Tiger and Novus Leisure, has since progressed into the world of operational management.
